Overview of Teams

If you’re new to Teams, watch this short video. Teams are built on Office 365 groups, Office Graph, and the same enterprise-level security, compliance, and manageability as the rest of Office 365. Teams leverage identities stored in Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). When you create a team, here’s what gets created:

  1. A new Office 365 group
  2. A SharePoint Online site and document library to store team files
  3. An Exchange Online shared mailbox and calendar
  4. A OneNote notebook
  5. Ties into other Office 365 apps such as Planner and Power BI
